Re: Win7 MP3 file using audacity-win-2.0.5
you can see the file there You can see a "file name" there. Can you be sure that the entire full length file is there? How are you getting the MP3s from your computer into the car player? Also what should be the Host setting: MME or WASAPI? It depends what you are recording, but that is n...

Re: Blank spots recording Skype
I have never heard or recorded a complete dropout of both parties when recording Skype with Audacity or other tool, where two people are talking at the same time. I've not had a complete drop-out either, but I have had the recorded volume go very low for a short time immediately after a loud noise ...

Re: Win7 MP3 file using audacity-win-2.0.5
MP3s can be CBR, ABR or VBR. The default is CBR, as it was for Audacity 1.3.x, so that would not seem to be the problem unless you have manually change the MP3 options. How are you getting the MP3s from your computer into the car player? Have you checked that the hard drive in the player is not full...

Re: Noob with volume questions
Yes you can use compression. That will gently "squash down" the peaks, allowing the quieter audio to be made louder. There are various types of "compression" ("dynamic range compression" to give it its full name). "Downward" compression is the most common - th...

Re: Can't save projects
Check "where" they are saving the projects.
Avoid trying to save to a network drive. Network congestion can make the location appear to be inaccessible.
Check with your IT department what locations on the computer's local hard drive the students have write access to.

Re: Audacity clipping waveform even though I still have head
Clipping will occur if any part of the signal chain is overloaded. For example, if you have: microphone -> mic pre-amp -> USB analog to digital computer -> Computer sound system -> Audacity If any part of that chain is overloaded, the audio will be clipped. If the signal from the mic is too high for...

Re: Blank spots recording Skype
This is when you use Skype without even recording it? Yes. I thought mobile and VoIP offered full-duplex emulation ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duplex_%28 ... _emulation ) so that theoretically, parties should be able to speak simultaneously. "Full duplex" allows bidirectional data simu...

Re: Feature request: Moving tracks
As I see it, holding CTRL while clicking would not change selectedness or focus Holding Ctrl down to not change selectedness (of any tracks) sounds like it could be a good idea. I don't think that dragging a track that doesn't have focus makes sense, and may not be possible without a lot of hacking...

Re: USB audio from a USB mixer
I've not tried it, but I notice that the Windows drivers are identical to the Behringer UCA-202 drivers, so it's a good bet that the USB part is actually the same in both devices. The UCA-202 works on Linux (ALSA). Ensure that the mixer is connected (via USB) to the computer before you launch Audaci...

Re: Odd Issue Appearing - Rec Level
Why "without success"?
Did you find the recording level setting for the UFO-202 in the Windows Sound Control Panel?
Have you accidentally switched the UFO-220 to the "phono" setting?
