Re: Conserving/creating ID3 spare space
Am I correct to note that you implicitly confirm that the function I described is not currently in Audacity? There appears to be a little padding (zeros) but not much. I am surprised that you are able to edit ID3 data and expand ID3 space "almost instantaneously", since that requires (alm...

Re: Need help recreating sound in music!
Try the "Repeat" effect: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/repeat.html
You will need to copy the "Klick" sound to a new track.
Ensure that you select the right length so that the repeats occur at the right time.

Re: Conserving/creating ID3 spare space
ID3 meta-data (version 2 and higher) in MP3 files is usually forllowed by a number of spare bytes (typically hundreds to thousands) that allow the ID3 meta-data to be edited without a complete re-write of the MP3 file (which is time-comsuming for larger MP3 files). What software are you using to ed...

Re: Feature request: Moving tracks
Even that description has a weakness It does. Would you care to have a go at defining "focus"? I guess the best place to describe focus may be on http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Audio_Tracks . Now that we're discussing it, it seems odd that page describes just about everything about tr...

Re: Sound dropping out when converting to mono
What happens if you use the track drop-down menu and use "Split Stereo to Mono" (without deleting either track)?

Re: Quick export question
1) Is higher bits necessarily better sound quality? No. There are lots of factors involved in recording "best" quality. Even 8 bit can sound quite decent apart from the sssss that is impossible to get rid of. All digital recording has ssss that is caused by the digital format. At 16 bit t...

Re: Microphone for recording commentary on gameplay
My problem is that my microphone will pick up every keyboard and mouse click that occurs. A headset mic should do that less than other mics. The other alternative is to record the voice over separately after recording the game-play. You can use an "in game" voice recording as a guide track.

Re: Wish List: Find Maximum
Edgar-rft posted a Peak Finder plug-in which is available on the Audacity wiki: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Analyze_Plug-ins#Peak_Finder_rft (late post because I've just updated it to fix a minor bug) I have also updated one of my old Peak Finder plug-ins and posted it here: http://for...
