Re: Noise Gate
Wouldn't be nice to have a Preset dropdown to select pre-saved parameters ? Nyquist plug-ins are written in Nyquist code, with a simple graphical interface provided by Audacity (for more information, see: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Plug-ins_Reference). This interface is very basic an...

Re: Audacity association with WAV lost after installing 2.0.
Audacity does not make file associations to WAV files (you must have done that manually), so no, Audacity does not wipe out registry entries that it did not make. Audacity 2.x adds very little to the registry as user preferences are now stored in a preference file. The old Audacity 1.2.x version sto...

Re: How to measuring the volume levels in Audacity in dBs
It depends what you mean by "volume". It is easy to measure the "peak signal level" (the "Amplify" effect will indicate how much below 0 dB the biggest peak in the selection is). Measuring "loudness" is a completely different issue (see: http://en.wikipedia.or...

Extend Silences
Topic split from http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=72304 This plug-in was originally developed in response to a request for a way to "stretch" the pauses in a language tutorial recording so that the user has more time to repeat each phrase. The plug-in is not restricte...

@Steve if you are reading this, were you in a similar position with some sound device on an XP computer? I had a similar problem on Windows Vista. "Audacity 2.0.5" (release version) worked perfectly but "Audacity 2.0.6 alpha" crashed before it started. The problem was resolved b...

Re: Need help with Noise Removal, it's corrupting the track
We have a feature request on the wiki for: Import Appended: (39 votes) Import multiple files end-to-end in a single track. Would allow re-assembly/re-processing of LP/tape recordings for which no Audacity project exists. Also allows to import multiple tracks for CD assembly Possible Enhancements: wi...

Re: change scale of Meter toolbar
"Edit > Preferences > Interface"
Change the "Meter/Waveform dB range"
Note that you can also drag the meters out of the main Audacity interface, and stretch the meters to the full width of your screen.

Re: Need help with Noise Removal, it's corrupting the track
You're welcome.
I guess what you really need, to make the job really easy, are two feature:
1) Import clips end-to-end in the same track (a popular request in one form or another).
2) A command to "Label Clips".
