Re: Lost work disaster
Until the project has been saved, recorded audio data is stored in the Audacity "Temp" directory: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/directories_preferences.html After the audio has been saved, recorded audio (including audio recorded after the project was saved) is stored in the project...

Re: Discontinuous, and spectral selections
The fact that two different large companies (Adobe and iZotope) both have a very similar feature is probably a reasonable indication that such IP claims will not stand up.

Re: convert music to 432 Hz
Of course, if the music that you are processing is not tuned to exactly 440 Hz (very likely for some types of music) then shifting the pitch by -1.818 % will not tune it to A 432 Hz.

Re: Playback stops at end of track instead of selection?
If you want to loop up to 4.4 seconds, drag from there to 3.95 seconds (release the mouse when the yellow vertical line appears) then Generate > Silence... . The start of the selection does not need to be exact. You can select from 4.1 seconds to 4.4 seconds and generate (0.3 seconds) silence, or s...

Try putting the cable over your shoulder so that it runs down your back rather than hanging down in front.

1) Don't expect to get good audio quality from a web-cam microphone.
2) Ensure that all recording "Enhancements" (such as "noise reduction, echo cancellation and so on) are switched off. See: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... hancements

Re: Discontinuous, and spectral selections
No doubt that making a direct copy of features from Adobe Audition or Izotope RX would breach IP rights (intellectual property) in one way or another, but I doubt that the general idea of selecting audio in spectrogram track view would be patentable. Have patents ever stopped anything else in Audaci...

Re: Samson C01U commentary becomes desynced slowly over time
As Koz wrote, it is very common for different devices to run at slightly different rates. Professional studios can get round this by using (expensive) hardware that can all be connected to one common "word clock" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Word_clock) Provided that both the computer and...
