Re: Recording and uploading music
I can't help with anything to do with the Yamaha forum as their forum has nothing to do with us, so you'll need to ask them about those issues. To create a normal audio file (such as a WAV or MP3 file from a recording in Audacity, you need to "Export" the audio. There is a "Getting St...

Re: Unable to import M4B File
How do you rename a file ... I've tried just changing the name and extension ie. filename.jpg to filename.xxx but in the Properties window it still comes up as jpg with filename.xxx showing As a general rule you should not change the filename extension manually. If you want to rename a file called ...

Re: Static during playback
The loudness of the static is proportional to the volume of the audio sound being played. Strange. That sounds as if the audio is distorting due to being at too high a level, but if that were the case it should also occur when playing the same file in other applications. If you open Audacity (close...

Re: Mystery of the tiny waveform and intermittent 1000 hz to
Getting very close to the mic does help the signal (-0.5 to 0.5), but the whine is still very audible. The slider for mic recording volume in Windows Control Panel is at max already. Are you this close? (that's a "Shure SM58" microphone) http://www.bbc.co.uk/suffolk/content/images/2005/08...

How exactly did you "record over" another recording? (step-by-step, what did you do?)

Re: Change Speed - Stretch audio to a specified length
Probably, but another user could be wanting to contract a track to synchronise with another. Yes, I see the linguistic issue of "stretching something shorter" :D More advanced users may see an inference to time stretching, which is not what this plug-in does. Hmm, resampling is very close...

Compression is one affect that would greatly benefit from "real time preview" (so that you can twiddle the controls while listening).

Re: Low frequency noise
Audacity can record any signal that you send to it (via the computer sound system). The problem is getting the sound from the outside world into the computer. Microphones typically "roll off" (reduce) the level of very low frequencies so as to avoid problems with rumbling sounds in the rec...
