Re: Removing old recordings

To Save the Audacity Project: "File menu > Save Project" Note that an Audacity Project is not a normal audio file and can only be opened in Audacity. To create a normal audio file: "File menu > "Export" More information about exporting files here: http://manual.audacityteam....

Re: Spectrum Plot for Pure Sine Wave

Can you explain why a pure sine wave in Audacity shows more frequencies then the one it is theoretically oscillating at? That is rather complicated to explain fully. Basically it is as a result of the way that it is measured. As an analogy, if you filter white light through an orange filter, then y...

Re: Bug? Win7 64bit with Play & Pause of 2 tracks

Re: Bug? Win7 64bit with Play & Pause of 2 tracks

You have never been able to open two independent instances of Audacity. To add a bit of detail: If you open Audacity and then open another project in Audacity, you actually only have one instance of Audacity running, but have two "project windows" open. There are several (mostly technical...

Re: Playback issue, corrupt mp3?

Audacity 1.2.6 has been obsolete for a long time, so that may well be the problem. The current version of Audacity is 2.0.5 and is available here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ If you install the recommended installer for Windows, it includes the user manual (in the Help menu), which will no dou...

Re: Playback issue, corrupt mp3?

Does it play correctly in Windows Media Player?

Which version of Windows are you using?
Which version of Audacity are you using? (look in "Help > About Audacity" for the full version number).

Re: recording from a pc

There are different methods depending on which version of Windows you are using. See here in the manual for instructions: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html If you are using Windows Vista or later, use the "WASAPI" settings as describe...

Re: Freeze when hitting the play/ pause / stop button

If you are playing a song in another application (or perhaps if you even have another audio application open) then you won't be able to play audio in Audacity. Note that "another audio application" may include your web browser if a web page that includes audio has been opened. Flash anima...

By "usual", do you mean the playback speed in Windows Media Player?
How do you know that the "usual" playback speed is the "correct" speed?
