Re: Audacity 2.0.5 and Linux Mint 17, I can't work
I'm not sure what you mean by "velocity". Could you try to describe that in different words.

Re: MP3 ID Tag Bug?
In VLC I'm seeing the following tags (created in Audacity) for MP3 files: Title Artist Album Date Track number Comments So the only one that is missing is the "Genre" tag. Metadata has always been a problem, and will probably continue to be. Although there are "standards" for met...

Re: NT1 microphone is too quiet?
It's literally just a cord it doesn't have a model number that I can see. Just a generic XLR to USB you'd buy for 10 bucks off ebay That's the problem. The Rolls provides phantom power, but no "gain" (amplification). From their web page it looks like it is designed for use with a mixer (w...

Re: Change of Speed or Tempo ??
Audacity does not apply effects unless you tell it to. I presume from your question that the playback speed of your recording is unexpected and wrong. There's no obvious reason for this, so we'll need to go back a bit.... Where did the recording come from? Please describe what you are doing, with wh...

Re: What's wrong with my unbalanced audio wave?
Strange as it looks, I don't think there is a problem. It's not unusual for voices to look "unbalanced", though your example is more pronounced than most. The phenomena is also common with brass instruments. The important thing is that the "average" value is centred around zero, ...

Re: Audacity won't play any actual sound
OK, with your set-up now, and with the mic connected, and "Host" set to MME, could you do the "Device Info" thing again and post the contents.

Re: Skype/Audacity compatibility
This is a common problem. Skype needs to control the sound system in order to work, but that usually makes it unavailable for Audacity. The best way to record Skype is to use software that is specifically designed for the job, such as "Skype Call Recorder" http://atdot.ch/scr/ (Free, open ...

Re: Taking instruments out of a song
Is it possible to buy songs like this Usually not, though "karaoke" versions of songs are quite common (see any major on-line music store). There are also "MIDI" versions of many songs. These are not "real" instruments, but synthesized arrangements. Many ordinary media...

Re: Conflicting lame.dll files
Audacity probably won't work properly with the Nero version. Once Audacity has found a version that it can use it will generally continue working with it even if other versions are present. I'd suggest that you try removing the "Lame for Audacity", then (temporarily) rename the Nero versio...
