Not entirely, but being able to "save" a project as a playable "file" resolves the major part of the problem.

http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/User:James/AU14TrackPanelDemo Proposal Unitary Project : Intention is to add load/save of Wav files, using additional streams within Wav for things like labels. Eventually will work by extending a file with new data and cached changes being added on the end - i.e. a...

Re: Audacity made silenced half the audio in the project

Thanks. I don't know why you got the problem with 2.0.2, but there have been a lot of bug fixes since then. 2.0.6 is due out soon, so keep an eye on: http://audacityteam.org/download/, or register your e-mail address at the bottom of the Audacity home page (http://audacityteam.org/) if you want to b...

Re: Best way to edit squeaks from live music recording

Are the numbers in the instruction illustration the default values? If you are referring to the manual, then yes, the illustrations show default settings (unless context dictates otherwise). Bench Vocalization Suppression Fluid? "Silicon oil" - not cheap, but highly recommended (excellent...

Re: "installing" or opening

I'm on Win 7 and downloaded the .exe installer. Did you get it here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ That is the official (genuine) download location. There are many other places that you can download Audacity, but we have no way of knowing if they are "genuine" Audacity, so the recomme...

Re: Audacity made silenced half the audio in the project

Out of interest, were you using a high sample rate?
As concern, have you exported a backup copy in WAV format? (WAV {or FLAC} files are extremely robust and make excellent backups)

Re: Best way to edit squeaks from live music recording

Could you post an example squeak? About 5 or 6 seconds in WAV or FLAC format (not MP3).
See here for how to post audio samples to the forum: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 49&t=72887

Re: Best way to edit squeaks from live music recording

If you're referring to piano tool squeaks, then I'd recommend a can of WD40. It's much more effective at eliminating squeaks than any amount of post-processing.

Re: Compressor: shorter attack/release times?

Although of no use to Robert, a "graph" that allows drawing arbitrary curves (like the "Draw Curves" view in Equalization) would be nice.

Can you do that from within the Audacity file browser dialog? That's what I'd like, so that I don't need to also navigate to the folder in the system file browser.
