Re: How to record from cassette recorder?

Go to System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Privacy.
Click on "Microphone" in the left column.
Is Audacity listed in the right panel? Is there a checkmark beside it? If not, click the lock to make changes, then click the checkmark for Audacity.

Do you mean the Audacity menu bar?
No, the Mac icons right at the top of the desktop. The Mac volume control icon.
Or as I see Bill has just posted, "Go to Apple menu > System Preferences > Sound > Input."

Or is that a built-in functionality? If so, where do I find it?

Re: How to record from cassette recorder?

Although the greyed out controls in “audio midi setup > USB Audio CODEC 2 (Input)" looks peculiar, I've just checked on my Mac and that is the same here. Click on the speaker icon in the menu bar and select "Sound Preferences". Then click on the "Input" button. You should se...

Re: Help documentation edit suggestion

It's definitely a fair point about division, that much I know. And I'm sure people with a lot more knowledge could duke it out over the topic, but looking into it a bit, it still seems to be the consensus that in 'general', performance still favors integers - albeit, not as much as in the past. Aud...

Re: Opening Audacity "lags out" microphone until reboot

Audacity has to scan the sound system on launch, otherwise it has no way of knowing what audio devices are available.

Are you able to play a WAV file with:

Code: Select all

aplay name-of-file
If that works, launch Audacity and then exit Audacity, then try the same "aplay" command again. What happens?

Anyway if it wasn't clear, my request is to have the multiplier for Change Tempo and Change Pitch.
I've logged your request on the Feature Request page of the wiki.

Re: Hearing other person on therapy recording session

The "professional" solution is to use more hardware: 2 computers and a mixer. Use one computer for the call, and the other for recording. The mixer handles routing the signals.
