Re: Request: Skin
Theme support is currently disabled in Audacity. There is likely to be a new and much improved method for customising the visual theme in future versions of Audacity. The old method of customising the theme may be enabled if you build Audacity from the source code and enable Experimental Theme Suppo...

Re: looping click???
Possibly an easy workaround: Before you make your loop: 1) Import the audio that you want to work with. 2) If not already at 44100 or 48000, change the "Project Rate" (lower left corner of the main Audacity window to 44100 or 48000 (44100 is standard for CD audio and generally a good choic...

Re: MERGE RAW FILES
I did a recording yesterday and my audacity developed an error What sort of error? Manually rebuilding Audacity Projects from the .AU files is not always possible. Normally you should not mess with the .AU files and leave them to Audacity (Open the .AUP file). In the case of an error, Audacity will...

Re: '70's/'80's CD music remix examples using Audacity
I've got quite a few early CD releases of prog rock (SuperTramp) jazz fusion (Weather Report) that sound flat and tinny with kick bass reduced to tap sounds that I'm attempting to give a big, live sound in Audacity similar to what DJ's do to old vinyl samplings but not using over dubs of electronic...

Look in the Windows Sound Control Panel and ensure that the device is set to record in stereo, then restart Audacity.

Re: Strange ALSA input device menu for EMU1212 card
Anyone seen this? No, but my guess is that there is a start-up script that needs to be run to make the sound card work and that sometimes bootup tries to run the script before the sound card is initialised, and so fails. The next time that it happens, rather than rebooting, try just logging out and...

Re: Possible to get rid of "crackling" sound?
Thanks again and sorry for all my questions but now I got as far as to the setting window for Pop Mute and it doesn't look the same as in the screenshot above so I'm not sure how I should set the sliders to get the best result? Trebor is using an older version of PopMute. I'd recommend reading the ...
