Re: Made copy, deleted, which deleted original file -> recov
Because it's illogical that Audacity removes the original data folder if you change something in the copy file... right? That's the bit that I didn't follow. Audacity doesn't do that. It would be more logical to get a message saying that the name of the file and that of the data folder don't match ...

Re: Made copy, deleted, which deleted original file -> recov
While an Audacity project is open you can undo operations that you performed with Audacity by using "Edit menu > Undo" (shortcut; Ctrl + Z).
This will not work for anything that you did outside of Audacity.
The Undo history is cleared (emptied) when you close the project.

Re: Fixing Tunnel Effect
Please let me know if anything can be done. Not much :( Noise Removal is a waste of time because the the noise and the voices occupy the same frequency band. Reducing the noise will muddle the speech and make it even harder to understand. Probably the best that you can do is to try any pull the spe...

Re: Copying and Pasting into a different track
These are the steps on Linux. On Mac it should be the same but with "Command" replacing "Ctrl". 1) Select the part that you want to copy. 2) Ctrl+C (Copy) 3) Enter (toggle the track selection off) 4) Up/Down cursor keys to move 'focus' to the track where you want to paste (the tr...

Re: Made copy, deleted, which deleted original file -> recov
The safe way to make a copy of a project is to open the project in Audacity, then use "File menu > Save Project As..." I didn't quite follow your description, but if you can't find the data files then I doubt that the project can be recovered. To avoid repeating the tragedy, please see thi...

Re: Will this setup work for podcasting?
I've used those Behringer mics and was not impressed - a bit too cheap. OK as "spare mics" for live use, or perhaps micing up hand percussion or other non-critical stuff.
If you're in Europe, have a look at the T-Bone MB85 beta. Still low priced but much better mics in my opinion.

Re: Can audacity handle planar data?
Non-interleaved PCM is rather rare, and as far as I'm aware, not currently supported by Audacity's RAW import.
Do you know how many samples there are per channel chunk?
What happens if you import the non-interleaved file as 16 bit 44100 Hz mono?

Re: Need help making voices louder
The tips that Koz gave are pretty well the best available in Audacity. An audio forensic expert may be able to pull a bit more out using specialist equipment, but that is not a service that we offer.

Re: Audio quality drops during recording
Do I keep the same settings on my laptop and Audacity too when the UCA is connected? Plug the USB plug into your laptop. Connect the line-out connections of your mixer to the line-in connections of the UCA 22. Launch Audacity (the USB should be connected before you open Audacity). Select the USB op...
