"Latency" isn't about "files".
Latency refers to the delay between the time the audio enters the computer and the time Audacity is able to record it to a track. It's only really relevant if you are making "overdub" recordings. For most other tasks it is irrelevant.

Re: How to record the output of the Scarlett 2i2 soundcard?
Because the Motif XS is a hardware synth, using references in Ableton to the external sound module, it don’t "see" the synth and the rendering process stops after rendering the audio-clips only. I've tried all that! Yes, that is to be expected. So, the other option to dump the midi-files ...

Re: Cannot edit selection (in stop mode)
I have windows 7 and everything is grey in effects column even though it is in stop mode. What can I do?? :? Have you selected the audio that you want to edit: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audacity_selection.html If that isn't the problem, please give steps to reproduce the issue (remember ...

Re: Audacity crashes frequently while using the spacebar
You could try the launch workaround but with a higher value. To test: Press F2 to open a command prompt, then enter: env PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=300 audacity Bypass Pulseaudio by setting the playback and recording device to an ALSA (hw) choice, simply doesn't work. It just gives an error message. The hw ...

Re: How to record the output of the Scarlett 2i2 soundcard?
typically with a DAW you mix the audio and MIDI digitally "in the box" and "render" an audio file (instead of recording the analog output) That's what you would do when using a "soft synth" (software synthesizer). The Yamaha Motif XS is a hardware synthesizer so the ou...

Re: How to record the output of the Scarlett 2i2 soundcard?
I don't have Ableton Live!, but I think what you need to do is to export the "audio" from Ableton as a WAV file. In order to get the MIDI and audio tracks synchronised, you will probably need to record the MIDI tracks as audio tracks in Ableton. So that is, play the MIDI tracks to the inpu...

Re: Extend Silences
But what I noted there was a "thump" that hit about -30db when the additional time was added. Thanks for the feedback. The "thump" is probably due to the sudden change between low level noise in the "silence" that you are extending and the "absolute silence" ...

Re: Prevent prompt "Save changes before closing"?
Most audio players allow you to do that. Try associating MP3 files with your favourite audio player (note as Gale wrote, Audacity is an "editor" rather than a "player").charlesh3 wrote: I would also prefer that there be a way to start playing automatically when I click on an mp3 file.

Re: upload my track
what do you think i need to do to make it better. Tough question - I think it sounds terrific :D To be picky, the lead vocal is possibly a bit "back" in the mix (sounding a bit too "far away"). For a more "up front" sounds, you could try delaying the vocal reverb a lit...
