Re: Forums with new posts
It's probably not very relevant, because the forum software only shows "unread" topics on the index page, not "new" topics. Being that there are tens of thousands of topics, it's quite likely that they would all show red borders even if you could see them, so not very useful exce...

It will probably work correctly in most good web browsers - Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari, Iceweasle, ... If you're using Internet Explorer, you can probably still view the YouTube vers...

Re: 24 bit WAV?
16 bit WAV is probably the most common type of PCM audio file, so it has been given its own heading. For other types of WAV file (including 24 bit WAV), select "other uncompressed files", then click on the "options" button.

Re: Cannot edit selection (in stop mode)
Steve. If i click on edit and click select and then click all then the effects drop down darken and are usable. That is the only way it works for effects to function. Seems convoluted but works. There are multiple ways to select audio. (for a detailed description, see: http://manual.audacityteam.or...

Re: Forums with new posts
presumable intended to help identify the forum section Correct. ;) but I don't see any obvious indication of unread posts at that level. It's subtle. Note the thin border around those icons. If it's red then there are unread posts. If it is blue then you have read all of the posts on that board. (o...

Re: Latency data of Audio Files
I want to discover if the result is different depending the type of data, or waves. Audacity does not work directly with files. Unless you have enabled the "on demand loading" feature (off by default), Audacity copies the audio data into a temporary folder as a series of small data files ...

Re: Latency data of Audio Files
I thought I could test the latency using audio files. "Latency" is a "delay" between one thing and another. In the context of Audacity, and specifically http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Latency_Test, "latency" refers to the "delay" between the time that aud...

Re: Latency data of Audio Files
Why do you want to do a latency test? What are you actually wanting to do?

Re: How do you record beginning from where you left off?
2 ways:
1) Press the Pause button (or "P" key) rather than the Stop button if you just want to pause the recording and then resume.
2) If you need to "Stop" then resume, use Shift + R to "append record".(also available in the Transport menu).
