Plot Spectrum automatically scales the y axis to fit the available data.
That may not be the most useful behaviour, but it is what it does.

Among other things, this gets around the problem of needing to make the analysis intentionally sloppy so you can see the spikes on the graph. Koz Not shown in that video, Gnuplot also has a feature to "smooth" the graph. That is, it averages neighbouring values to provide a less spiky cur...

Audacity is only capable of mono/stereo playback. However, Audacity can export multi-channel audio files which could then be played in another application. (see http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/ad ... tions.html)

Try switch off "Snap To". Does that make a difference?

What settings do you have in "Edit > Preferences > Recording > Latency" ?

If your ASUS Xonar is an external device (USB or Firewire), ensure that it is connected and working before you launch Audacity.

Since I already downloaded the 2.0.6 beta version several weeks back and it's been working fine for me in OS 10.6.8, should I download/install this release candidate version of 2.0.6? The actual release (not "release candidate") is now out and available here: http://audacityteam.org/downl...
