Re: not recording anything
To be more specific I am using a behringer xenyx502 mixing board. How is the Behringer xenyx502 connected to your computer? As in red near the top of this page: Please state which version of Windows you are using, the exact three-section version of Audacity from "Help > About Audacity".

Re: Differences between analogue & digital mixing?
Fundamentally, "poor" or "artificial-sounding" representation of "sound stage" (where the instruments are placed left-right and back-front in a believable ambience, and how the instruments blend into each other). Digital vs Analog is irrelevant to both of those concern...

Re: Plot Spectrum Accessibility
The first would be to have the ability to sort the textual output based on frequency, as it is now, or by volume, and to be able to sort ascending or descending values. Once you have exported the data, you could import it into a spreadsheet application (such as Excel, Open Office Calc, or Google Do...

Re: Differences between analogue & digital mixing?
There are some elements of that real life modification that digital doesn't capture properly IMHO Which "elements" are you referring to? What do you mean by "doesn't capture properly"? even if it has other distortions that are perhaps unwelcome Distortion is not always "unw...

Re: How to make something sound like it's coming from outsid
Roll off the treble so that it sounds a bit muffled. It will sound more authentic if you can make a contrast with rain outside and provide theatrical clues - for example: Door opens - rain sound. Enter John, dripping wet. Door closes - muffled rain sound quieter. John: "Oh it's filthy weather o...

Re: Setting max clipping to be able to noise remove and ampl
You lost me right at the start cybrmarc. I'm going in, applying some noise removal, then re-amplifying the track to make up for the audio loss. Why do you need to amplify? Normally after noise reduction, the audio will be virtually the same as the audio before noise reduction, just with a bit less n...

FFmpeg v2.2.2 is for Audacity 2.0.6.
You are still using Audacity 2.0.5 which uses an older version of FFmpeg.
Audacity 2.0.6 is available here: http://audacityteam.org/download/
