Try "View menu > Fit Vertically".
Is that what you want?
If you want that to be automatic, go to "Edit > Preferences > Tracks" and enable "Automatically fit tracks vertically zoomed".

Re: Sampling parameters do not change in exported files
To export as "16 bit 44.1 kHz WAV":
1) Ensure that the "project rate" is set to 44100 (bottom left corner of the main Audacity window.
2) File menu > Export Audio
3) Select "WAV (Microsoft) signed 16 bit PCM" as the file format.

This is essential both to streamline the setting up at the start of a lesson, and to enable students to easily retain work in prog...

Re: Pops and clicks in playback during editing
Try a higher number in the PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC command. For example:
Code: Select all
env PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=100 audacity- Sat Oct 04, 2014 3:36 pm

Re: Sample rate downsampling/upsampling explanation.
Would be nice if someone responsible for Audacity actually explained what method Audacity uses on Audacity forums. I've already given that information. Same thing in different words: Resampling is not handled in the Audacity code but in "libsoxr". Audacity uses 4 of the presets in libsoxr...

Re: erasing parts of a track without everything else moving
sometimes you'd end up with just too many tracks.. You can "mix down" as many (or as few) track as you like, at any time. Just select the tracks that you want to mix down (or part of the tracks - it does not need to be the entire track), Then from the Tracks menu, select "Mix and Ren...

Re: Q. RE: Analyze Plot Spectrum
So If I analyze two different songs (no matter where I analyze within the song) one song shows -90db at the bottom, and another only goes to -84db. What does this say about these two different songs? It doesn't say much. -84 dB is very very very quiet. One could reasonably say "silent". -...
