Re: adjudting sound levels for all .wav files

Well, it will make "quiet" parts of the track louder, Which is not what was asked for. In some types of music (particularly classical music), there can be sections that are, and should be, much louder or quieter than other sections. Your effect reduces that range, and by default it reduce...

Re: adjudting sound levels for all .wav files

A man's praise in his own mouth stinks, but you may have a look at this tool: Dynamic Audio Normalizer (Also integrates into Audacity as a VST plug-in or, if you want to avoid re-encoding, into Winamp as a DSP plug-in) Thanks for the contribution Gunnar, but that is not what the original post is as...

Re: Voice and Guitar Together

By the way, is there a way to split them after recording them in two different channels inside a stereo track? Is it possible to split a stereo track into two mono tracks? Yes, see here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/splitting_and_joining_stereo_tracks.html Using two devices to record from a...

Re: Chaptering a MP3 record

Probably the most widely supported method is to export each chapter as a separate file, then create a "play list" (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M3U).
Most media players support play lists.

Re: Multiple simultaneous mono tracks recording support

It depends on your hardware. If your hardware allows you to connect the guitar to one channel and the microphone to the other, then you can record that as a stereo track, then after recording you can split it into two mono tracks (one for vocal and the other for guitar). See here for splitting track...

Preview button in Nyquist effects

A new, and long awaited enhancement for Nyquist plug-ins has recently been added to the Audacity 2.0.7 source code. Nyquist "process" type plug-ins may now have a Preview button. This is "breaking news", so may be subject to change. Preview cannot be expected to work correctly fo...

Re: Help! I would like to use Audacity for my class, But..

They must not at any time click on Big Download Buttons because those will probably be advertisements for products that contain malware. Or at least, they will not be downloading Audacity. I think that is a bit strong. I'd say "do not click on Big Download Buttons because those will not be dow...
