Re: Quiet chh sound at beginnin of mosts beat
Is this song something that you have recorded?
What is the "chh" sound? Is it a high-hat being played?
Is the recoding a full mix, or do you have separate tracks for each instrument?

Re: generating 500hz tone at 1000 hz sample rate doesn't wor
If the Nyquist Advanced Generator does more than generate a single tone (so that e.g. it could create simple sequences), I would see more point to it. There are already people that use Audacity for editing instrument samples for use in samplers and sequencers. For example, there are a lot of refere...

Re: E-Mail notification confusion
Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately the forum software (phpBB) does not provide that feature. I've looked to see if there is a mod available to add that functionality, but there is currently no officially supported mod to do that. I did find an unofficial mod, but it is currently a beta version...

Re: Saving a .wav file in 2.0.5
The current version of Audacity is 2.0.6 which is available here: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows In 2.0.6, "File menu > Save Project" will save an Audacity project. An Audacity Project is not a normal audio file and it can only be opened in Audacity. To create a normal audio file...

By the way, I disagree with their conclusions and think their methodology is seriously flawedBlack Dog Bluez wrote:interesting article/sort of on the subject:

Re: Editing a Compressed File (Sound) (Is it damaging to do
interesting article/sort of on the subject: OK, so that article is about "data compression" (making the file size smaller). Lossy formats such as MP3, AC3, WMA and so on, always reduce the sound quality a bit when the audio is encoded . Audacity always works with "uncompressed" ...

Re: How to export a file as a specific wave format
11.025-99.000 kHz What does that mean? Do you mean that the sample rate must be between 11.025 kHz and 99 kHz? The default sample rate in Audacity is 44.1 kHz (44100 Hz). The actual sample rate of exported tracks is determined by the "Project Rate". That is set in the text box in the lowe...

2) is a significant disbenefit. There's no reason why Nyquist plug-ins can't have time control widgets, other than that no-one has written that into the Audacity/Nyquist interface yet. Roll-on "version 4" ;) Didn't we previously use the Nyquist DTMF Generator then made a built-in effect? ...

Re: Lock pan and volume in tracks
You might still need a locking mechanism. I'm contesting the word "need". It seems that most of those that are in favour of a locking mechanism use Audacity with single track, or low track count projects. In such cases the "safe" clicking area for track selection is huge with th...
