Re: Harmonize 2 audio sounds
the "equalizer" could be useful for my need, The Equalization effect is exactly what you need. There is some information in the manual that you may find useful: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/equalization.html The usual way to adjust the equalization, is "by ear". You may ...

Re: How to Insert Time Intervals of Silence
I know how to cut the time out, but I don't know how to add any. There are several ways to do that: 1) Click on the track where you want to insert silence, then from the Generate menu, select "Silence". Enter the time duration for the silence, and click on the OK button. 2) Copy some sile...

Re: Can't Install
You need to install "Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable". See here for details: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#14001 I presume that you are aware that Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft and cannot be considered "secure&qu...

Re: import multiple .wav files
The way that I would do it would be: 1)Import all of the files - they will be loaded one above the other. 2) "Edit menu > Preferences > Tracks" and set "Solo button" behaviour to "Simple". This allows you to quickly switch between one track soloed and another track solo...

Re: Normalize path during export
users would have to do mass renaming (possibly using other tools), Or users could restrict themselves to using only characters that are accepted by their 'legacy' software. but Unicode uptake was and continues to be very slow You're not kidding - Unicode has been around for well over 20 years, whic...

I've not used Ubuntu for a while, but if I recall correctly you can check if proprietary drivers are available with (something like):
System Settings > Software & Updates > Additional Drivers
System Settings > Software & Updates > Additional Drivers

Re: "Show Clipping" Options
But seeing red lines in the waveform but no clip indicator in Meter Toolbar is confusing IMHO. Theoretically yes, but in practice it is virtually impossible to make a recording that "just touches" 0 dB (that is, only single samples touching 0 dB). If the recording is that hot that occasio...

Re: Normalize path during export
I'm not sure what the shared common standard of supported code points across plattforms is Unicode (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unicode), which is what Audacity uses. Unfortunately some other applications have not yet adopted this standard, and as far as I can see, that is what is causing the inco...

It's possible that one driver could be upsetting the other.benaround wrote:Something changed with 14.04 and Graphics aren't right either.
If your graphics is NVidia, check to see if you are using the "non-free" drivers from NVidia - usually they work better than the open source drivers.
Re: Settings
The new Audacity software is now working fine but I cant hear anything when I play back other MP3 music tracks from my Music folder. I can however hear the music when I am recording it. My settings must be wrong. You will need to set the default playback device in the Windows Sound Control Panel or...
