Re: Can the performance of Nyquist in Audacity be improved ?

I don't know how the team would feel about forking Nyquist. Going on the response from previous times this has been discussed, it is preferred to keep "Audacity Nyquist" and "CMU Nyquist" fairly close in step. There are two ways that can happen. Either Audacity waits for changes...

Re: Export Creates MP3 with only one layer of audio??

Perhaps you could describe what you mean by "top layer of audio". Are you referring to audio tracks? (manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audio_tracks.html)

What exactly are you trying to do?

Re: Improved seeking

but you still can't seek beyond the right edge. True, but currently, if you click on a track (no selection) then you can seek forward but not backward. If I were wanting to "seek" a particular point in the audio, then intuitively I will click "near" where I think the point is, s...

Re: Importing .au type file as raw, saturation

A 20 minute mono recording at the default sample rate and bit format would be around 200 MB. A 20 minute stereo recording at the default sample rate and bit format would be around 400 MB. Audacity does not create large data files unless you export, and you have not said that you exported a file. Aud...

Re: Importing .au type file as raw, saturation

Saving a project does not create a single large file - it creates a small "AUP" file, and a "_data" folder containing many small data files (see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audacity_projects.html#AUP) Unless you "Exported" a file from the project, then there w...

Re: Harmonize 2 audio sounds

I like the approach. To a degree that approach will work, but you are running into physical limitations of the material that you are dealing with. Looking at "audio version 1" 480134Audioversion1.png From about 12000 Hz upward, the sound level drops very rapidly to almost nothing. When the...

Re: Help With Vocal Audio Clip

Just as recording a signal over itself is additive. Such an addition as that I suppose would be trivial to edit out. Editing out the echoed addition is currently not trivial but that's what we're trying do - not trying to remove the source signal at all, despite the witty phrase. The returned echo ...

It works on Linux, though it's begging for extending the feature to allow scrolling to the left of the initial cursor position.

Do you mean that you lost an Audacity project, or you lost an audio file?
(As described here, Audacity projects are not single files).

It may help if you describe what you were doing when you lost the "track" and how you lost it.

Re: Help With Vocal Audio Clip

Another way of looking at "why it is so complicated": "Reverberation" is caused by lots of reflections of a sound from the surfaces in a room. Hard surfaces tend to be more reflective for sound. Large rooms tend to have a "longer" reverberation due to the time it takes ...
