Re: Can the performance of Nyquist in Audacity be improved ?

I actually meant a discussion (which was probably the base for this article). However, I can't locate it; I don't think that it was here on the forum. It's essentially the same though. The question came up many times on the old Nyquist mailing list. This is one such occasion: http://audacity.238276...

Re: Two questions, layering audio and certain effect :)

I was mixing my song the other day and my friend told me that it is beneficial to stack 3 of my vocal tracks together to create a layering and more full sound. Is this true? In itself, no, it will just make it louder (and probably distort if the addition makes it too loud). However, if you stack mu...

Re: Can the performance of Nyquist in Audacity be improved ?

He's already complained about it in the comments to his two-fold Normalize plug-in. That's to do with an implementation issue in Audacity rather than in Nyquist itself. "S" is bound to the sound, and Nyquist plug-ins only get one bite at the cherry. In order to normalize, the entire sound...

Re: play recordered file with winamp

I already read the help in the past (would be your next question, assume) Not at all, no-one reads the entire manual cover to cover :D but since you mention it, there are some handy tips for navigating and playback on these two pages: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/navigation_tips.html http:/...

Re: play recordered file with winamp

right cursor? Yes, but probably not the cursor keys on the number keypad. You can also use the "dot" and "comma" keys (they usually have "<" and ">" as upper case characters on English keyboards), or "shift + dot", "shift + comma" for a lo...

Re: Need help with effects for psych study

Try this "reverso" effect.
It takes short sections of the sound and reverses them.

Re: play recordered file with winamp

i was able to open the temp folder, select all files and play with Winanp. So have I got this right: You would record with Audacity, then, while Audacity is still open, you would go into the Temp folder and select all of the (.au) data files in WinAmp, then you would play the files in WinAmp. If th...

Re: "Show Clipping" Options

I can see the sense in having the same algorithm form both the waveform red vertical lines and the meter clip indicators, but if that is the case then I think that it needs to be easily configurable (as per koz's suggestion). If the two are linked, then an obvious and convenient place for the option...

Re: CANNOT RECORD STREAMING AUDIO

Thank you for taking the time to share your "insights" metazip. Now who actually reads the manual If you can't be bothered to read the manual, even when a direct link to the relevant part has been posted, then why do you think that it is reasonable to expect someone else to copy it out for...
