Re: Even out volume of voices
It's 2014, I came to this page after a search for help with the same issue, and felt I should post an update. Thanks isquiesque. This is a problem that occurs when ancient topics are revived years later. The original topic is dated 2008, but then it was revived in 2009, again in 20013, and now agai...

Re: Selection panel
To change the format in time selection boxes, click on the little black downward pointing triangle on the right side of the track and select the format that you want.
The format that is currently selected in your image is "hours + minutes + seconds + milliseconds".

Re: Update from Audacity 1.3.14 beta
Can I download the new version (2.0.6) on top of the older version, or should I delete the old version first? Probably best to remove the old version first so as to avoid confusion. I would just go ahead and delete the old version, but I don’t know if that would leave behind anything that could cau...

We're not going to succeed in providing all things for all people, but that seems to offer most things to most people, so +1Gale Andrews wrote:AFAIK most of us agree or don't object to Meter Toolbar clipping at one sample if there is an option for the clipping indicator to fade. Right?

Re: Audacity Crashed and Now I Have 1,605 2 Second Clips!!!
Recently I was recording at a conference How long was the conference? (how long was the recording supposed to be?) Were you using default settings in Audacity? CAUTION: Take care not to delete any of those little files - you may want to make a back-up of them. Normally after a crash, Audacity will ...

Re: "Show Clipping" Options
If that is not insane, :D I don't think that it's insane, but I think it is getting more complicated than necessary. I think that we all agree that ideally there should be no warning lines at all, that is, there should always be at least a little headroom, and Edgar has explicitly said that if the ...
Re: sync-lock
Well I think I have detailed the "benefit" four times now and this is my last attempt. If you build up the project by adding tracks, the preference saves you having to refit the new track to the project every time you add a new track. Advantages of enabling "Automatically fit tracks ...

Re: How to remove all gaps between clips in one track?
True, but I was guessing the "silence" could be dither noise, in which case truncating appears to remove only the white space. The use case is very unusual if there are large numbers of absolutely silent clips. Yes, it depends on the type of noise present (if any). Yes it's very unusual, ...
