Or your video editor is - either way, MP4 is a pretty wacky format.

Rather than importing the MP4 into Audacity, try exporting the audio from your video editor in WAV format, and import that WAV file into Audacity.

Not quite. It is a Windows application, but supports text files from Windows, Mac and Linux. It is not designed to "run" on Mac or Linux, only Windows.

but I feel I have the same problem. Your issue is probably unrelated to that in the other post, so I've split it to a new topic. When I record there is a high pitch ringing in my recording I don't notice a "high pitch ringing", though I notice that there is a "mid pitch" ringing...
