In the Audacity Transport menu, ensure that "Software Playthrough" is OFF (not selected).

Rather than importing the MP4 into Audacity, try exporting the audio from your video editor in WAV format, and import that WAV file into Audacity.

Nope, same problem, all I get is the external mic which records my voice etc.... Ah ha, now that is strange - I don't think that is likely to be due to a hardware fault. Do you know how to "roll back drivers"? If you do, see if the sound card drivers can be rolled back to an earlier versi...

It does jiggle [love the description] but will only recognise the external sound, whether the cable is in or not, therefore all I hear when I attempt to record into the microphone socket, is myself speaking/ clapping etc It seems that your computer may no longer recognising that you have something ...

Not quite. It is a Windows application, but supports text files from Windows, Mac and Linux. It is not designed to "run" on Mac or Linux, only Windows.Robert2 wrote:It is a cross-platform text editor

but I feel I have the same problem. Your issue is probably unrelated to that in the other post, so I've split it to a new topic. When I record there is a high pitch ringing in my recording I don't notice a "high pitch ringing", though I notice that there is a "mid pitch" ringing...
