Re: Multitrax Track 01 recording into trax 02 Not wanted
Set Audacity to record from the actual input that you want to record from (in the device toolbar) and not "Stereo Mix" or "Sound Mapper".

Re: Audacity 2.0.6 - Ubuntu 14.10 - No devices found
Unpacked source from audacity-minsrc-2.0.6.tar.xz $ ./configure --disable-dynamic-loading $ make $ sudo checkinstall make install The problem building was probably due to missing header files for dependencies. If you want to have another go at building, run this before you start so as to pull in th...

Re: Audacity recorder timer
OK, try this as an experiment: Record something (anything recognisable - it could be you counting seconds) for exactly 1 minute, then press the spacebar to stop the recording. How long is the recording in Audacity? Play the recording back and time it. How long does the playback last? Does it sound n...

Re: Audacity recorder timer
The entire recording plays fine from beginning to end So it's aright then? Of course if you prefer to use other software then that is entirely your choice, but after 7 posts in this topic I'm still not clear what the actual problem was. If Audacity says that the recording is 1 hour 45 minutes, then...

Re: Audacity recorder timer
Would you like a copy of it? Not really ;) I can only listen to the same thing so many times Well just listen to the start and the end. Is there silence at either end? Does it sound like the correct speed? Does it sound like the correct pitch? Are you sure that the cassette actually is 90 minutes? ...

Re: How to inccrease volume of 500 wma files
[Update: I see that Gale has replied while I was typing, so this is basically the same answer in different words ;)] Is "0 db" equivalent to all bits in the digitized sample being set 1? 0 dB is equivalent to any sample having a value of +/- 1 This rather strange looking waveform has a pea...

Re: Joining two tracks of different volume
1) Import both tracks (they appear one above the other). 2) Align them end to end, but keep them on separate tracks . Caution: If you boost the level of either track, it can cause the audio to play back distorted, so usually it is a matter of reducing the level of the loud track rather than boosting...

Re: How to inccrease volume of 500 wma files
say a pure sinewave tone is digitized and normalized. Could that file not sound different volume when played on two different brands of CD players with the amp set at the same volume position CD players are usually fairly consistent (-10 dBV out for a 0 dB signal), but I get your point, and yes, di...
