Re: increasing accuracy of Silence Marker
There seems to be some confusion about the code that I posted, so here is a heavily commented version that describes what it does: (setf threshold -30) ;dB (setf min-length 1.0) ;seconds (setf label-text "Silence") ;the label text ;; --------- End of user input ------------- ;;"step&q...

It's available in the Mint repository in the "swh-plugins" package. Use your package manager (for example "Synaptic package manager") to install "swh-plugins".

Re: Regular Interval Labels
Imo, the main problem with the latest version is that we can't grey out controls, hence the rather clumsy workaround of marking some controls "(if used)". I don't see any satisfactory workaround, but I'm hoping that we get the ability to grey out controls in the next Audacity release after...

Does it happen if the game is not running and you have only Audacity running?

Re: Auto Chain, AAC Export?
I am using Auto Chain option and want it to do AAC Export AAC export requires FFmpeg, but that is not currently supported in Chains. It is a popular feature request. I've added your vote for this feature. If you only want to transcode your files to a different format, use a different program (perha...

Re: Which Interface: MME, Windows DirectSound or WASAPI?
Audacity 2.0.6, .exe, Windows 7 Pro I noticed the three interfaces. I read the FAQ and found MME gives widest compatibility. If my USB (Behringer) works OK with all three interfaces, which one is "best"? The latest? Or does it matter? Application is just recording from cassette tape. Than...

Re: "Show Clipping" Options
IMHO, the Developers pay little or no attention to the Proposals. Some do, some don't. Some prefer to see a brief outline of a proposal as an "enhancement" issue on bugzilla. Others prefer to see the detail on the wiki. No reason not to do both and cross-reference them. The wiki is much b...

Re: Error message: "audacity.exe is not a valid Win32 App" !
I'm a million miles away from being even remotely close to an expert And yet you freely rant about the "bl**dy mess" created by the Audacity developers, who are actually experts in this field :? I'm not an expert in this field, so to install Audacity on a fresh installation of Windows XP ...
