Re: Export options visibility
I think I might find your idea confusing I'm sure it could be tweaked if we wanted that sort of thing. And wouldn't that mean an extra selection to be made, versus just clicking a button? It would mean: If you want the same setting as last time: No action required. If you want to check the settings...

Re: Selection woes
And it's all nice and dandy with text read slowly where there are long enough silences between each word so that a few tenths of a second don't matter, but if I have someone speaking really fast, and I try to pin point a tiny 'a' or a 'the', it's very hard when audacity keeps snapping my selection ...

Re: Overfading two tracks
The basic technique is to have the two tracks one above the other so that they overlap where you want to "crossfade". Then apply "Fade In" and "Fade Out" effects to each of the overlapping regions. When you export to create a new audio file, the tracks are automatically...

Re: Ideas for new features
1. Restore last selection/region. It will be great if Audacity remembers the last selection/region, so it can be restored if user accidentally clicks and it disappears. I like the idea, but I don't see a clear way to implement it. What should happen if, for example, I select from "1 to 2 secon...

Re: Installation query
What is this mysterious widget and how do I track it down please? "wxbase28u_vc_custom.dll" is one of the libraries from wxWidgets . wxWidgets allows Audacity to be built for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux from the same source code. Disclaimer: I'm not a Windows guy myself so the next part i...

FWIW, mod-script-pipe in the current SVN builds OK on Linux.

Re: Noise Removal (and other effects) Advice
Lol :D OK, back on topic... I think you overdid the patched clip. Not by a lot, but yes I agree, a bit overcooked. I was trying to hit the maximum -60db noise floor, You've gone way below it, but I can see why you think you haven't. After running through my effects, including Noise Removal, I highli...

I described the approach that I would take in this post: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 53#p261553Kris A wrote:I see. Thanks for pointing that out. Any ideas on how to go about this ?

Re: How to compare two audio files ?
scroll down and under batch commands there is a "CompareAudio". To me that looks like what i am looking for. Thoughts ? Unfortunately that will be no help. It is comparing sample by sample, so if the start position is just slightly off, the comparison will show that they are completely di...

Re: Memory Management Problem?
Audacity doesn't support Yosemite. Audacity 2.0.6 does not officially support Yosemite. The release notes say: OS X 10.10 Yosemite: Audacity 2.0.6 will not officially support OS X 10.10 Yosemite when released (in particular, Apple Audio Units may not open in Audacity). Since then, work has been don...
