In most cases the information that we need is just (for your setup): Audacity 2.0.5 - DMG install MacBook Pro - Yosemite 10.10.1 BTW, the current version of Audacity is 2.0.6, available here: http://audacityteam.org/download/mac Audacity 2.1 is due out in January and will have some fixes for Yosemite.

It looks like you have gone over the maximum length for a Windows file path (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/windows/desktop/aa365247%28v=vs.85%29.aspx#maxpath) Try making a copy of both the AUP file and the _data folder and put the copies into your Documents folder. Then try opening the copy.

Could Audacity not save the selection on KeyUp, just as presumably it would on MouseUp? KeyUp if possible would IMO be a better solution to saving the selection in the AUTOSAVE recovery file than not autosaving the selection at all. The format options are not currently displayed unless you open the Options dialog (which necessitates two clicks - one to open it and one to close it).
