Re: Noise Reduction Audacity 2.1
In each case I have aimed for "good" settings. Yes the effect is subtle, but I find that the "new artefact" occurs with any recordings in which the background noise is gentle hiss and there are breaths / mouth noises that are slightly higher level than the background hiss. Any vo...

Re: Initial Installation
Our manual does not have page numbers, so I don't know what instructions you are referring to. (This is the current online version of the Audacity manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/) In order for Audacity to be able to "see" an audio device, it must be recognised and enabled in Wind...

Re: I found an apparent bug in valnum.cpp
A fix for the "valnum" bug has just been committed into the current "alpha" code. If you're interested, this is what was committed: Modified: /audacity-src/trunk/src/widgets/valnum.cpp ======================================= --- /audacity-src/trunk/src/widgets/valnum.cpp Sun Nov ...

Re: Effect High pass filter with Q
That's OK. There are now double line breaks instead of none, but that should work OK. The author, David R Sky, was blind (sadly he died a few years ago). Many of his plugins have double line spacing, but that should do no harm. To use "Code" tags, ensure that there is one [ code ] tag at t...

Re: large file won't import aud2.06 XP
To open an Audacity Project, use the "File menu > Open" command and select the Audacity Project file (has the file extension ".aup". See here for information about "Audacity projects". http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audacity_projects.html Please note also that Win...

Re: Noise Reduction Audacity 2.1
Another example. After the word "meal", the mouth and breath noises sound a little louder, but more natural in the first (old) effect and more "metallic / artificial" in the second (new) effect.

Noise Reduction Audacity 2.1
I've noticed a new type of noise artefact that occurs in the new "Noise Reduction" effect (Audacity 2.1 alpha) that did not occur in "Noise Removal" in previous Audacity versions. The attached audio file has the old Noise Removal on the first version, and Noise Reduction in the s...

Re: Effect High pass filter with Q
In my editor it looks: Your editor is not reading the "new lines". It is important that new lines are retained in the edited file and that the format remains as "plain text". I don't use Windows, but when I did, I used "Notpad++" which is a very good (free) plain text ...

Re: Effect High pass filter with Q
Attemt to change. Your editor is messing up the lines. It should look like this: ;nyquist plug-in ;version 1 ;type process ;name "High Pass Filter with Q..." ;action "Applying High Pass Filter with Q..." ;info "High Pass Filter with Q by David R. Sky" ;control freq &qu...

Re: Effect High pass filter with Q
Is "High Pass Filter with Q..." listed once in the list of effects, or twice?
