Re: 14000 Error
I suspect that you mean "error 14001", in which case the correct solution is to download and install the appropriate Microsoft "Redistributable Package".

Re: ERROR in Plot Spectrum?
Both could be useful, though they are somewhat fringe options for mono tracks. In that case I don't know what you mean by "average multiple tracks/channels". The confusion is with stereo tracks where the peak in the spectrum analysis is higher than the peak when you play or export. The pe...

Re: ERROR in Plot Spectrum?
Would you support an option to average multiple tracks/channels? I don't see that has any great benefits over other methods. If you have two identical audio channels, would you not expect the amplitude for each frequency bin to be 6dB higher than just one audio channel? If we decide that we want to...

The first thing to try is to turn off the Windows sound enhancements and see what the recording sounds like. (see my previous post for details).

Re: Gaps, cues
I did not understand that the main purpose of Cue files is to burn CDs. See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cue_sheet_%28computing%29 I have burned a lot of CDs, but don't understand the utility of a Cue file in doing so. With most modern CD burning programs you don't need cue sheets because the...

Re: Trim Silence
Being that this effect removes silence from the start/end of the selection, if your track has say about 5 seconds of silence at each end, you only need to apply the effect to a little more than 5 seconds at each end.war59312 wrote:Thankfully easy enough to work around just by doing an hour at a time or less.

Re: Audacity killed my computer's sound card
Which version of Audacity do you have? (see the pink box at top of page). Did you download Audacity from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ I installed it on this computer (a ThinkPad T400 with Windows 7) and then I tried launching it...it crashed right on launch. I tried restarting Windows, it...
