Re: New user

is there a manual in a format for printing? There is no PDF version. Single pages may be printed using you web browser's "print" function. The HTML pages are good for specific questions but leave something to be desired for a higher level view of managing recording "clips", join...

Re: How do I raise input levels or increase waveform?

I'm often recording voiceover reels or radio spots that have been posted online. Any further suggestions? Check first if it is possible to download rather than record. Firefox web browser has lots of plugins / Add-ons available for making (many, but not all) video/audio streams downloadable. Downlo...

Re: How do I raise input levels or increase waveform?

To answer your other question about why don't I just download the video, for these videos I only want to create an mp3 of the audio portion. If you have Ffmpeg installed (see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown) then Audacity is able to import the audio p...

As you are starting a new question it is best to start a new topic (I've split your post from the old topic).

Could you be running out of space on your hard drive?

Re: existing file info - peak and RMs

There is a feature request on the Audacity wiki: Other analytical/statistical ability .... Track sample data: headroom to dBFS (audio level), peak minimum and maximum sample, RMS volume, replay gain etc. see SF, Wavelab, Cool Edit etc. over an arbitrary length of audio, even the whole file Does that...

If you are using Ubuntu Vivid and you installed that version of Audacity from the Ubuntu repository, please send a bug report to Ubuntu. Pre-releases of the Vivid Vervet are *not* encouraged for anyone needing a stable system or anyone who is not comfortable running into occasional, even frequent br...
