Re: Advanced voice isolation

the Sphinx source code belongs to the US Taxpayer !!! No it doesn't. It is open source software . We will have to, of course, adapt the stolen code for our specific needs.. I look forward to seeing your progress with that. ps: Have you seen the thread "KMan, I am glad to report that your probl...

Re: Create many tracks from one long WAV file

"Markers" in Audacity are called "Labels". All about Labels and Label Tracks: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/label_tracks.html The easiest way to create a label at a specific point, is to click on the audio track at the point where you want the label, then press Ctrl+B . Op...

Re: ReplayGain

I do not see any default setting under amplify?? It is automatic. When you select some audio and open the Amplify effect, the amount of gain required to bring the highest peak in the selection up to 0 dB is automatically calculated. So, I make mixes, i am trying to level the volumes from one track ...

Re: File upload limits

The main use case for uploading files is to demonstrate a problem. People should be uploading exported small parts of a project to demonstrate the problem. They should not be uploading an entire song saying "here it is, please fix it" which I think high limits would encourage. It would al...

Re: it starts playing when i add markers

I've not looked at this behaviour much in detail because until very recently I was unaware that it existed, (as I think was the case for most of the other QA folk), but now that I look, the more issues I am finding. This one is a definite bug: Ctrl+Click on a track, or anywhere within the track wind...

Re: it starts playing when i add markers

PS It's also potentially moonphase buggy. In testing this just now with many Ctrl+clicks I managed to get Audacity playback into a big tangle where it moved the cursor backwards unbidden on the wave form playing a short section, then moving the cursor backward again prior to the previous point, pla...

Re: First audio book, am I on the right track? Not sure

If I send the wav file from the iphone or ipad to my laptop and open in audacity, how do I tell if I am recording in 44100 and 16 bit wav? On Linux (which I use) I can right click on an audio file and select "properties" and the computer shows me basic information about the file format. I...

i saw something like this done on another post, but i have no idea how they did it. (viewtopic.php?p=137251#p137251) I gave a brief description of what I did in this post: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=137251#p137251 Trebor used "knockout" in his attempt: http://forum.auda...

Re: First audio book, am I on the right track? Not sure

I've no idea how well an iPhone will record, or even what format it will allow you to record in, but I do appreciate the problem of noisy computer fans. The minimum format specification for your recording should be 44100 Hz sample rate, 16 bit WAV. If the iPhone can do that then you may find that yo...
