Re: Upper length bar playback problem
How can I get rid of that icon? I wanna click wherever I want in the bar so Audacity starts to playback, even if it's 1 sec earlier from the last clicked zone. I hope you understand the problem, my english level is not perfect so I can't explain it better. I now have a fix for this. It is too late ...

Re: Fledgling voice artist seeking counsel.
WOULD anybody record at 100%? As others have said, it depends on the equipment. 100% may mean "maximum amplification", which will probably introduce too much "hiss" noise. 100% may mean "no attenuation", so that you get the full signal - less than 100% simply reducing ...

Re: Help with settings to clear this up
I've attached the sample if anyone is willing to try? You can manually go through the recording, selecting the quiet parts and apply the "Normalize" effect (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/normalize.html). The default setting will amplify the selection up to -1 dB. To speed the task ...

Re: Help with settings to clear this up
Okay I've tried to with and still having trouble telling if it's a guy or girls voice in the background. Is anyone willing to have a mess with the sample and see what they think? It sounds like the recording is too poor quality to be able to recover the background audio. We receive quite a few requ...

Re: To fade down vol (but not to silence) and then fade back
You guys have figured it out. There are two ways to do what you want (with Audacity). One is to use the "Adjustable Fade" effect. The other is to use the "Envelope Tool". The "Adjustable Fade" acts directly on the audio, changing it immediately according to the fade tha...

Re: Help with settings to clear this up
The Compressor effect can help to even out differences in volume, but don't expect miracles

Re: Help with settings to clear this up
What's the best settings to clear up a voice from the background of a voice sample? Do you want to reduce the background voice, or make it louder? If you want to reduce it, you could try a Noise Gate effect. If you want to increase it, you could try a Compressor effect. You will not be able to dig ...
