Re: it starts playing when i add markers
And note that Timeline Quick-Play ignores any cursor position or selection to the right of its Quick-Play position - so the two Quick-Plays behave quite differently. I would not hold up Timeline Quick Play as an example of how Quick Play "should" work. While working on enhancing that feat...

Re: Warning - Opening old project file
Yes I thought the distortion was due to the new version. No, that will have been in the original project. I'm astounded that I over cooked that project Easily done. If you keep the tracks as 32 bit float format, then if over 0 dB is caused by processing, it can be corrected by amplifying (either th...

Re: Import without drag and drop?
As koz says, either "File menu > Import > Audio", (or, drag the audio file into the Audacity window). Audacity does not set up file associations other than with Audacity projects (as you have discovered, that has limited usefulness), so I presume that you set up file associations with some...

Re: Noise Removal effect preview affected by Gain slider
I doubt that it is commonly done, but Audacity does allow it (and probably shouldn't, given this issue).DickN wrote:I wonder if anyone applies Noise Removal to multiple tracks simultaneously.

Re: My thoughts on musician share sites:
Thanks for sharing your thoughts BDB. SoundCloud was the best that I found too, which is why we decided to put an Audacity group there, but yes I agree that it is rather lacking in terms of "community". I'll be interested to hear how it goes with Yourlisten.com. Currently they are quite sm...

Re: Question about frequencies spectrum
Just out of curiosity: so doesn't even exist an audio filter (not only in Audacity) that expands the frequency range like in this picture I created? Picture inserted in-line using the "Img" tag button: http://www.zimagez.com/full/890a2902d61ae93c817defaa1cf6b7541df9919d5f6f9d49e10a4e11c67...

Too many people were abusing the "signature" field by using for spamming, so reluctantly we had to disable it except for long-standing forum users.falco2000 wrote:P.P.S.: how can I insert my signature in this forum? I couldn't find the dedicated text field.

Re: Question about frequencies spectrum
The "clarity" of speech recording is in frequencies above 4000 Hz, but as shown in that spectrum, frequencies above 4000 Hz are completely absent. If the frequencies above 4000 Hz were just "a bit low", then you could boost them using the Equalization effect, but you cannot boost...

Re: it starts playing when i add markers
Unbeknown to you, you turned that (fairly minor) problem off when you chose to turn EXPERIMENTAL_SCRUBBING off. ;) Yes I noticed that after my previous post ;) I'll let one of the voiceover artists reply to that: I don't really follow that description, but it seems like a highly untypical and awkwa...
