Re: Assertion Failure - Lastest PPA
I presume that you are aware that you are using an alpha version of Audacity? Alpha versions are only intended for testing and development - not for production work. ../src/gtk/clipbrd.cpp(71): assert "!ms_clipboard" failed in wxClipboardSync(): reentrancy in clipboard code Do you have a b...

Re: Can my music file be irreversably write protected?
The short answer: No.
Slightly longer answer: If a recording can be played, it can be copied. What happens if you have a tape recorder (remember those?
) and you set it recording while there is music playing in the room?

Re: Creating a Cassette Converter plug-in
Sound Finder is a Nyquist plugin, so you can edit the default values of the controls by editing the .NY file in a plain text editor. More information about Nyquist plugins here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Plug-ins_Reference The default settings for Noise Reduction are stored in the au...

Re: Audacity group on Soundcloud
So, basically, we cannot post a cover of a song, only originals? Well we certainly can't encourage, or be seen to encourage copyright violation can we, so we don't ;) Which means that one should, in the interest of avoiding legal problems, copyright his own songs before sharing In most countries, c...

Re: Adding envelope points is squirrely
I can never -- never -- get the envelope curve *not* to move when I click on it to add a new inflection point; I've noted this on all three platforms. Is there magic? Or should the routine which performs "Add a new point to an envelope curve" merely *not allow* an adjustment in the same g...

Re: Using Audacity 2.0.6-cursor sticks at beginning of recor
Would there be another reason for the "stuck" cursor? If you are trying to record an audio stream from your computer (perhaps from another application) and that audio stream is not playing anything, then Audacity could be waiting for data. If that's the case, stop Audacity, then start the...

Click the Stop button, then check in the Transport menu that you have not inadvertently enabled "Sound Activated Recording" (it should normally be off - not selected).
