Re: Imported Audio=Silent Waveform

It looks like you tried to select:
C:UsersAlexAppDataLocalTempaudacity_tempcanicreate
(whatever that is), rather than the directory:

I presume so. There seems to be a temporary glitch in the manual - that page should be in English :?
I've change the link to an alternative one which is displaying correctly.

Re: Utter novice seeks help joining files.

My question is, is there a way to join them together so they play as one long file rather than them all playing at the same time (over the top of each other) as I can only seem to achieve at the moment. The proper way to do that is to open the AUP file with Audacity. The AUP file contains a list of...

Re: Remover um instrumento de uma musica

I do not speak Portuguese. It is not normally possible to extract or remove one instrument from a track that contains many instruments. There are some tools that will work sometimes with some audio, but often the results are not very good. You will find some information about this (in English) here:...

Re: Why do these 2 soundtracks look so different?

The upper one is at best, heavily compressed , and at worst, badly clipped . Judging from the appearance alone, I would guess that it is badly clipped, whereas the lower track is only a little bit clipped. Re: Analyzing beats in an AUP

For a click track, you should be able to clearly see each of the clicks. The "Timeline" at the top of the track window will show you exactly how long a minute of audio is. Count the number of beats in one minute of audio and you have the exact BPM.

Yes I believe it can, though I don't know off the top of my head what the necessary command line switches will be.

Re: Assertion Failure - Lastest PPA

Update: It looks like they are using wxWidgets 3, which we do not yet officially support (though are likely to be switching from 2.8 to 3.x soon). According to this page, the bug has been fixed in the latest Debian "Sid" branch, so it should be available in Ubuntu soon. (I think that Benja...

Re: Assertion Failure - Lastest PPA

Thanks for the backtrace.
Could you have a look in "Help > About Audacity". On the "Build Information" tab it should show which version of wxWidgets Audacity has been built with.
