Could the issue be caused when RIAA equalization is applied (by the Behringer PP400) to vinyls that may not be equalized with the RIAA curve? I think the most likely cause is that you have got a duff pre-amp. These are "budget range" devices, so they probably don't do much (any?) testing ...

Where I bought it, I was told that all it needed was a USB adapter cord and it would be fine. As Xerlome (the original poster) wrote, it will "work" with a USB adapter cord, and USB adaptor cords are usually quite cheap, but you probably won't get great quality, especially not for quiet s...

Note that neither the capsule or the transformer are tied to ground, thus the voltage potential (signal strength) across pins 2 and 3 will be exactly the same whether one is tied to gro...

I've just listened to your "blocky" sample, and it sounds OK to me. :?
The piano is playing more gently than in the "not blocky" sample, but both play fine and have a nice piano tone.

You see all of those little "clocks" in the background? They indicate that the tracks are "synchronised" so that if you move one, they all move together so as to remain synchronised. That feature is called "Sync-Lock" and it is off by default. Two ways to turn Sync-Lock...
