Re: audacity download from sourceforge.net - no recording de

You've not told us what sort of recording device you have or even which version of Windows. If you are using a USB recording device, ensure that it is connected and recognised by Windows before you launch Audacity. Assuming that you are using Windows Vista or later, check in the Windows Sound Contro...

Re: GLITS Tones in Ausacity

Sorry about the delay replying - I've only just spotted this post. First you will need to make a stereo track (Tracks menu > Add new > Stereo track) Then make a selection the length that you want the GLITS tones to be. Then use the Nyquist Prompt effect with this code: (let* ((amp (db-to-linear -18)...

Re: squiggly noises

Videos downloaded from Youtube quite often contain "illegal" characters in the file name. Audacity should be able to import the MP4 if you have a compatible version of FFmpeg installed (as per the instructions here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ff...

BillFrezza wrote:How do I make a hot key for the "Silence Audio" function?

Re: Recording with Windows Wasapi

This is how Audacity works with MME, Directsound and WDM-KS , but not with Wasapi. That's because the only part of WASAPI that is implemented in Audacity 2.0.6 is the "loopback" input. The "loopback" input is a special "virtual" input and is similar in function to the ...

Re: Downgrade to 2.0.5?

You can get old versions here: https://code.google.com/p/audacity/downloads/list?can=1&q=&colspec=Summary+Filename+Uploaded+Size+DownloadCount It could help us to improve future versions of Audacity if you told us what the problems are. Note that 2.0.6 and earlier do not officially support Y...

Re: Recording with Windows Wasapi

And means that a new recording track will record the playback sound from previous recorded tracks. If I use MME or Windows Directsound the loopback text will not come up and the playback sound will not be recorded. Do those two statements contradict each other? You seem to be complaining that one r...

Re: Opening song file-sluggish

This is off-topic, but I think it would help all of us if I explain how "quoting" works in the forum software. Overview: The forum software uses "tags" around text to give it particular types of emphasis. These "tags" are in the form of text within square brackets. Tags...
