Re: Recording issue
Plug the turntable in before you launch Audacity, then open Audacity and check that the USB option (the turntable) is selected as the recording device in the device toolbar.

Re: recovering file
I saved the project (but not as wav). If you used the "File menu > Save Project" command then there will be an "Audacity Project" file (with a file extension of ".AUP"), and a "data folder". The data folder will have the same name as the project file with &qu...

Re: Create Fades on Clip Edges
the butterfly effects - and I cannot get them to work. They load, the window comes up to let me set the parameters, I hit ok and... nothing. What gives? Make a stereo track that has audio in the left channel only (silence in the right channel), then apply "Stereo Butterfly (LFO)..." with ...

Re: Generate DTMF tones
I am sorry if was a little rude but instead of the slider this UI should have a mean to directly set tone length and silence length (separately) in milliseconds. So you would like it to be more like the Nyquist plugin version (http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Generate_Plug-ins#DTMF_Tones)?...

Re: Exporting Track With Audio & Music To MP3??
I would assume, if I wanted to go the other way and have a stereo mp3, I would need to convert my mono tracks to stereo before exporting to mp3. Just to clarify that: If all of the tracks are mono, then the exported file will be mono. If any of the tracks are stereo, then the exported file will be ...

Re: Generate DTMF tones
It's not a Nyquist plug-in. Ah yes, I'd forgotten that it had been converted to a built-in effect. The original version is still available as a Nyquist plug-in on the wiki (one of David R Sky's early plugins) http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Generate_Plug-ins#DTMF_Tones I admit, there shou...

Re: Mix and Render with Auto Crossfade
This is very representative of what I would want it for. All overlapping regions do NOT overlap with any other overlapping regions. With that "restriction" in place, then I think that it would be quite easy to accomplish as a Nyquist effect (assuming that we are using Audacity 2.1 - due f...

Re: Generate DTMF tones
This feature UI is complete crap. Not really a useful or even very meaningful critique of the feature. Who on earth needs 2 sec. tone or silence length... You mean in the DTMF tones plugin specifically, or are you asking about generating tones / silence in general? If the latter, then generating to...

Re: Schedule Record -- Help with script
I rarely use Windows, so I have a question:zenk wrote:Audacity was the only program that I found that allows me to record using the windows wasapi function.
Can WASAPI be set as the default for recording?
If it can, then I think that you could record using SoX http://sox.sourceforge.net/sox.html

Re: Mix and Render with Auto Crossfade
But - if you did have overlapped regions that DO overlap with other overlapped regions, then that could strat to get tricky. I think you have hit the nail on the head ;) If this were to be a standard feature built into Audacity, then really it would need to be able to handle the general case. We ha...
