On all 4 cores?
What sort of file are you trying to open?
Is it just a momentary spike?

Re: Unable to Cut/Silence/Split/Join

You're going to kick yourself ;) You've gone too far down the Edit menu and are looking at the "Labelled Audio" sub-menu and there are no labels in your project. A little higher up the Edit menu is the "Remove Special" sub-menu". (more information here: http://manual.audacit...

Re: waveforms of imported music have white band in middle

My guess is that you have changed from the normal "Selection Tool" to the "Multi-Tool". http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/multi_tool.html The button with the "I" cursor is the normal "selection tool" (Shortcut F1) The button with the star is the "multi...

Re: Record Two Discrete Tracks Simultaneously

In Audacity I set the input to "USP Audio Input" and "2 (stereo) input" and I can see both mic's waveforms recording and I can adjust volume of each at the Audiovox device. But the recording, though stereo, is on one track. Is it possible to separate the simultaneous recording o...

Re: Cord use

You can buy "XLR to USB" cables (female XLR on one end, USB plug on the other), but judging from reports on this forum, they don't work very well. The main problem being that the recording level is very low and if you amplify the recording to make it loud enough then there is a lot of hiss...

Re: WAHWAH CRASH?

I can't test because I'm not on Windows, but I notice that in the Spanish translation there is: # #: src/effects/Wahwah.cpp:62 #, c-format msgid "" "Applied effect: %s frequency = %.1f Hz, start phase = %.0f deg, depth = %.0f" "%%, resonance = %.1f, frequency offset = %.0f%%...

Re: how to sync a second track to the beat of the first?

Have I got this right? The first track has an exact and constant tempo. The second track has an overall tempo that is about the same, but is not constant so some beats are early and other beats are late. You want to synchronise the second track to the first track. Is that it? If so, then unfortunate...

Re: How do you go back a version to libformat.so.53?

At this point we need the information requested in the pink box above. Where did you get Audacity and how did you install it? FFmpeg is a problem on Ubuntu because it is no longer in their official repository (they have switched from FFmpeg to libav). The easiest solution is likely to be to use some...

Re: How do you go back a version to libformat.so.53?

That error is not related to FFmpeg.

What has happened is that the recording has stalled as soon as you started recording.
What are you trying to record and what equipment are you using?
Are your speakers really connected via S/PDIF?
