Re: Audacity headroom with Zoom H2 as USB input

Check in the Windows Sound Control Panel that the mic input is enabled. If Windows can't see the mic, then Audacity has no chance.

Re: Best sound quality? HELP ME

and I thought that this is called encoder because "32 bit float" is what I found at "Encoding:". "Encoding" is the technically correct word in that context, but could easily be confused "encoding and decoding" as used in connection with formats such as MP3, A...

Re: Best sound quality? HELP ME

If I understand you right, e.g. the 64 bit float would be too "good" and has to be converted? 64 bit float would be exactly "as good" as 32 bit float, but no better, so you would be doubling the file size for zero benefit. As an analogy, it's like having a list of numbers: 1.3, ...

Re: can i change audacity splashscreen?

Not without building Audacity from the source code. You would need to save your custom splash screen in XPM format, name it as AudacityLogoWithName_xpm, replace the original AudacityLogoWithName_xpm file with your modified version, then build Audacity. 5. 32 bit float. (because that is what Audacity is using internally, so there are no conversion losses).

Re: mono (L) and mono mix conversions to stereo

I mean that waw diagram (or what you call it) on the channels in audacity. The "waveform display". Rec stereo or left channel results in higher curves than monomix (rec monomix, done in the recorder instantly). My educated guess is that "monomix" is recording the average of the ...

Did you buy these new? Do they both work? (have you tested them with anything other than your computer?)
Does the mic require a battery?
Which Radio Shack mic is it? (model number?)

Re: Timer Record automatic saving in Audacity 2.1.0

Also, if there were an unattended export, what would be the export location and file name? This one isn't hard - if one did this automatically as an option then you need the user to specify the export format, the filename can be taken from the project name and the location can be the same as the pr...
