Re: Timer Record automatic saving in Audacity 2.1.0
If they don't want to make an unattended recording, why are they using Timer Record? Exactly my point :) Perhaps an advanced feature like that would be a downloadable module. Yes, but with a (much) better way to install modules than how it is now. Audacity has come a very long way since the first (...

Re: Branding Overhaul
Here's a logo that Martyn (one of the developer's) sent to me.

Re: Windowed-sinc filter (steep cut-off filter)
The main reason that I wrote this plugin was because I was reading this book online: http://www.dspguide.com/pdfbook.htm and I find that I understand better by "doing" rather than just reading. In other words, it was an interesting exercise, with a result that may be useful to others. As a...

Re: Volume vs Gain?
I know that it definitely IS important to keep individual tracks under clipping. Most instruments sound crackly and just plain bad when they exceed 0 dB. That is the golden rule :) but like most rules, there is an exception..... While you are working in Audacity, assuming that the tracks are all in...

Re: latency
Firstly, assuming that you are recording your singing, you should not be listening through speakers. Doing so causes all sorts of problems in the recording - use headphones. With your computer switched off, plug your headphones into the q502, and also plug your mic into the mixer. If necessary refer...

Re: Windowed-sinc filter (steep cut-off filter)
Oooh lots of options :) Funnily enough, my first version had quite a few options, but I decided to strip it down to a minimalistic effect. As it is using the spectral selection, I think it would be more intuitive to allow the spectral selection to determine the filter type (though "band pass&qu...

Re: Timer Record automatic saving in Audacity 2.1.0
Ideally Audacity would record multiple overlapping streams if the schedule demanded that. Isn't that what advanced specialist software for this purpose does? At this point I think we would need to make some design decisions. Does the user want to make unattended recording OR does the user want hand...
