There are bits like this (zoomed in very close) that are producing little clicks:
These discontinuities in the waveform are due to digital errors, most likely to have occurred during recording.
What is the "phone to Jack line in" that you speak of?

Re: recording streaming with external soundcard
Thanks. Seems WASAPI is not available for Windows XP. No it's not. I missed that you said XP. If that is your only computer I would highly recommend upgrading the operating system as soon as possible - XP is no longer supported by Microsoft, which makes it a dangerously insecure system. If you can'...

Re: How do you do a ripple-delete/-insert? [SOLVED]
You Turn on SyncLock, cut the old clip, turn off SyncLock, cut the new clip, reposition the cursor between the now adjacent tracks, turn SyncLock on one more time, and then paste the new clip back in (possibly to the same track). Thanks for posting the solution (useful for search purposes as you sa...

Re: recording streaming with external soundcard
I don't know if WASAPI loopback will allow you to do that (see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html) but one way that will work is to use appropriate audio leads to physically connect the "line outputs" to the "line inputs". I...

Re: No sound from DAT player
In the recording tab: http://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=12019 Note the pale blue vertical "meters" to the right of the selected "Digital In" device. If that device is working correctly and the device is receiving audio, there should be green bars jumping around o...

Re: Timer Record automatic saving in Audacity 2.1.0
Noel Casey's After Midnight show airs on Dublin City FM webstream every Monday night from Midnight to 2am. I usually manage the first half to three-quarters of an hour but can't manage "musician's hours" so go to bed before the show is over. You don't actually need TR to do that. All that...

Re: No sound from DAT player
Default playback device is SPDIF-Out. You have Audacity set to play back through "Speakers (Sound Blaster Z). How are you listening to computer sound? Where/how are your headphones/speakers connected? For "input" devices you need to be on the "Recording" tab of the control ...

I understnd the process of lining up, inverting etc. and do you understand that the process usually does not work? Will I then g...

Re: No sound from DAT player
Check in the Windows Sound Control Panel to see if the device is working.
Note that for SPDIF you generally need to ensure that the sample rate is set the same everywhere.

Re: Recording 4 ch. simultaneously - only stereo meters?
Audacity does not yet have meters for more than 2 channels - that's a "feature request". I agree that for those that use multi-channel recording devices, that would be a very desirable (almost "essential") feature. I have added your vote to the "Features Request" page o...
