Re: Overdubbing: Not hearing live vocal playback in USB head

Then by following the tutorials I have been able to use a USB headset to add vocal tracks on top of the initial recording (pretty cool 8-) ) but I can't hear myself singing back through the headset while I'm making the new track. Maybe it's not possible with my setup. I think that's normal when usi...

Re: Audacity stopped working for me

Let's start with which version of Windows you are using, and the exact three-section version of Audacity from "Help > About Audacity".

What settings do you have in the device toolbar?

Re: Making the voice more easy to hear.

You can apply the Equalization effect (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/equalization.html) and use the "Telephone" preset. That will reduce frequencies that are outside of the main voice frequencies and may help a little, but it is unlikely to help very much because much of the music w...

Re: Cannot Record - Windows Server 2012 R2

Audacity is designed to run on a local computer.
If the VMs are installed locally and use a local hard drive, then it may work, but running programs in VMs take a performance hit and may not run fast enough to record/playback smoothly without distortion.

Re: Crackling Sound When Recording (No evidence of clipping)

Interestingly, the damage is rather similar to the damage that this user was getting: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=268269#p268269 This is from JB14's recording: http://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=12021 This is from the Windows PC in the other topic: firsttrack005.png

Out of interest - what steps did you take, and did it work?

Re: Fixing clicking in existing recording

I'd like to salvage the first recording if possible. I'm going with "not possible", unless you fancy applying the Repair effect for every 52 milliseconds of damaged audio. The Repair effect can fix it pretty well (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/repair.html), but you will need to do ...

Re: Translating language on an audio animation

You will need a video program to add your new audio to the video (Audacity only works with audio). Open the video in your video editor and note the length and timing points for each of the voice over bits. Make your English translation and edit it so that the timing matches with your notes - the tim...

Re: redusing file size

This is 55 seconds of silence and about 5 seconds of noise, mono, exported from Audacity as an OGG file with default options.
Note the file size.
ogg.ogg
(64.35 KiB) Downloaded 43 times
As Robert says, it would seem that your file is not "OGG Vorbis" encoded.

Re: [Audacity 2.0.6] Do not export 7 channels in AC3

it was just an abbreviation of the Audacity 2.06 and I presume that is an abbreviation of "Audacity 2.0.6"? We are not being fussy for the sake of it - We know there are modified version of Audacity out there on the Internet, some of which have been modified to include malware. If someone...
