Was the "reverso" effect not suitable? http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 46#p258146
Does this have anything to do with recording inter-dimensional beings?

Re: Loss with repeated edits in WAV?
"Dither is not required for 32 bit float format" Dither is applied when converting from a high resolution format to a lower resolution format, such as from 32bit to 16 bit. If you are working entirely in 32 bit float, then there is no conversion taking place, so dither is not applied. Whe...

Re: Eliminate "Export Selection"
Negative votes are not counted, but I can still say "-1" :) the reason being that I can just imagine myself thinking that I had safely exported a project when in fact I had only exported the selection. I then close the project without saving, and [email protected]#$%^&" the whole show (apart fro...

Re: Loss with repeated edits in WAV?
Thanks. So is it best to have the dither set to "none"? Generally it is best to leave dither set at the default settings: Real-time Sample Rate Converter: Dither = None High-quality Sample Rate Converter: Dither = Shaped. What are the exact circumstances that lead you to think that "...

Tools settings
A common feature in graphic programs (Gimp, Photoshop, Inkscape, etc.) is to have a selection of tools, and some sort of panel that has settings/options for that tool. Thus the number of tools required is reduced, while at the same time increasing the versatility of the tools. A similar approach cou...

Re: Loss with repeated edits in WAV?
Do you mean : if you don't export and re-open to edit? Yes, I mean that while the format is 32 bit float (as it is in an Audacity project), then edits are totally lossless. Thus, if you are wanting to make some edits now, and then more edits tomorrow, it is best to save the project after today's ed...

Re: Static noise with multiple USB microphones
You didn't really "fix" the problem, you just instructed windows to add low-cut filter to the input chain which will remove the DC offset. The fact the microphone seems to have that offset to me indicates that there is something wrong with the microphone. Just what I was about to say :smi...

Re: Static noise with multiple USB microphones
I'm visually-impaired so I can't see the model number on it Ah, so you can't see the pictures that I posted either - I'll try to describe what is happening. For the first third of a second of the recording there is absolute silence. Then the microphone recording starts and there is a "click&qu...

Re: Envelope elucidation entreaty.
Suggestion for the developers: When the envelope tool is invoked and only a section of the track is currently selected, automatically add points to the beginning and end of the selection to pin the gain so that the tool only effects the selected section. Interesting idea, but I'm not sure that woul...

Re: Static noise with multiple USB microphones
That's not good - the waveform is offset vertically:
It should be centred on the line at 0.0:
Is that a totally un-edited recording, straight off the mic? If it is then the mic may be faulty. Can you try the mic on a different computer?
