Re: Compressor going over threshold rate (-12dB)

I wanted the peaks to be at -12db because I read online that's the standard for broadcasters and radio presenters. I shouldn't worry about that. Broadcasters have their own standards for how they broadcast, but usually the source material (for example, commercial CDs) are generally normalized close...

Re: Compressor going over threshold rate (-12dB)

The playback level at the loudest point is roughly -17db, so not particularly loud. I want to use the compressor effect to make the volume of the whole track relatively even and bring the entire recording down to -12db. You mean "UP" to -12 dB? (-12 dB is louder than -17 dB. 0 dB is "...

Re: Multiple recordings

VAC is not our product, so we are not able to offer technical support for it, but if you can configure VAC to create one stereo stream with one game in one channel and another game in another, then Audacity should be able to record that as a 2 channel stereo track, and the two channels can then be s...

Re: Multiple recordings

I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to have two different sessions of Audacity recording different sources at the same time on the same machine Basically, no, but... I've purchased Virtual Audio Cable, as between it and VLC I can channel audio out to separate channels. What are you actually t...

Re: Tonematch and eq curves

There is an experimental plugin for this here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=203837#p203837 It's a bit awkward to use due to limitations of the plugin interface, but basically it does what you describe. I'm +1 for there being a better (easier to use) version (may be possible in futur...

That's more or less what we have now isn't it, except that these choices are in the main "File" menu. :?

Re: Tools settings

But if we did this then the existing proposal for creating a zoom toolbar and adding commands would be redundant. I don't see this idea (tools settings) being implemented soon. I'm just floating the idea at the moment for a bit of consideration and discussion as a way to simultaneously simplify the...

"click" (singular), and then only if you happen to be using a different option from the last usage, weighed against much enhanced functionality.

When that happens you tell your sidekick to look after the show for a minute while you attend to a call of nature.
I think the American term is "passing the buck".
