Re: Export options visibility
I think that we need to wait until Audacity uses WX 3.x before this can be properly addressed, so probably best to archive it for now.

Re: not showing ant wave forms
the wave form is too wide, it touches at both top and bottom. The signal level (hence the height of the waveform) is determined by a number of settings. When making adjustments to settings, follow the path of the signal (the "signal chain"). In my step-by-step instructions the signal path...

Re: [File Compression] Exported aac file too large
If you've not already done so, you can add a vote on Wiki Feature Requests for Audacity to add native Opus support. I'd certainly like to see an explicit menu choice for Opus export in Audacity, whether FFmpeg or native. OK, I've added my vote for Opus. I strongly suspect that it would be easier to...

Re: How to compare two audio files ?
I described the approach that I would take in this post: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 53#p261553ansnum wrote:I have the same need. have you found a solution ?
As there was no further comment from Kris I assume that answer was satisfactory.

Re: [File Compression] Exported aac file too large
You can still though use Opus support in FFmpeg if your FFmpeg version is from http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown. You can then import Opus files just by dragging them into Audacity. Is that the same for Mac OS X with all FFmpeg versions from that link? I...

Re: [File Compression] Exported aac file too large
Everywhere I ask, I get that, to reduce a file size one needs to save it as mp3 If you really want to reduce the file size for voice recordings, the best format to use is Opus . Unfortunately Audacity does not currently support Opus, but here is a short sample in both MP3 and in Opus format. In bot...

Re: ClipFix module
ClipFix is not a very sophisticated effect, and although it is unlikely to cause damage, it could do. It's really one of those effects that needs to be applied manually so that you can check that the cure is better than the problem. Obviously checking through 12,000 files is not practical so I'd jus...

Starting from all of the equipment disconnected from each other. 1) Connect SM58 mic to the left XLR input of the emu. 2) Connect your headphones to the headphone socket of the emu. 3) Connect the emu to the computer with the USB cable. 4) Switch everything on and wait a few moments for Windows to f...

Re: not showing ant wave forms
should i make any changes to my "set up" before we proceed ? Leave it as it is for now, then we'll do a couple of test runs to get this working a bit at a time. The main problem at the moment is that you have a complicated set-up, so it's difficult to see where the problem(s) is/are. I'll...
