Re: Is there any way to analyze an audio file and disc

The affirmations are based on a program/system called "Autofonix" if it is relevant in any way. Yes, that is totally relevant. In order to "decode" the "message" (to make it audible), the method of encoding must be known. It's like, if you have a computer file, the com...

Re: Automatically select mic1, 2, 3, or 4 on the panel

OK, so in Audacity you have each microphone on a separate audio track? If that's the case, then the level of each track can be manipulated. Re: Automatically select mic1, 2, 3, or 4 on the panel

Audacity does not process the sound as it is being recorded, so you would need to either apply your automatic volume control (somehow) before the sound gets to Audacity, or adjust the levels after it has been recorded.

How are you recording your 4 microphones?

Re: Total shambles

If you run the "Recommended Installer" Audacity 2.0.6 installer (.exe file, 22.9 MB, including help files), then there IS an option to reset preferences. Try it again and carefully read each screen during the installation process. Ensure that you have removed all previous versions of Audac...

Re: The Amplify effect has a side effect

For instance, a piece of music (flac) went from 700 to 1419 kbps 1419 kbps is very high for FLAC format and suggests that you are probably using 24 bit FLAC. In the Export dialog, click on the Options button to see if it is set for 16 bit or 24 bit. 24 bit FLAC files are typically about double the ...
