Re: Steganography with Audio

The message was introduced by a third person Do you know this third person? There are no obvious signs of hidden messages in that track (other than "Her Majesty" often being cited as the first "hidden recording" on an album). Digital data of any sort provides opportunities for h...

Re: Call for new forum icons

Any required dimensions or shapes? ie Square vs Circular icons 32 x 32 pixels. GIF or PNG format. Note that the Windows / Mac ? Linux icons on the index page are the official (trademark) logos for the respective operating systems. No rush, but I look forward to seeing what you come up with :) When ...

Re: Maximize each wavecycle to maximum volume

how to compress each wavecycle without distortion and clipping? How it is possible to maximize each wavecycle to maximum volume? As others have said, it is not possible to do with no distortion (because by definition you are wanting to modify the shape of the waveform and that IS a form of distorti...

Re: Recording from line in stops

Is there any setting in the preferences | recording which can cause this behaviour? Sure there are, and we have been systematically running through the possibilities. There's also no relation between the moment the recording stops and the inpout level in db. and that rules out one more possibility....

Re: How does one merge AUP files ?

I have separately recorded some 20 tracks (live piano via tape) on to the computer using AUDACITY. They playback ok separately. Now I want to merge them so that I can create a CD with each track playing automatically after the other - AND in the chosen order. A common misconception is that it is ne...

Re: jump to adjacent clip

Okay, let me see if I have this right. I would open up the "Regular Interval Label" dialog... No, you would open the "equalabel.ny" file (which will be in the Audacity plugins folder) in a text editor (such as Notepad, or Notepad++ ), and modify the file as required (after makin...

Re: jump to adjacent clip

Is there a way to automatically create Regularly timed region labels? The "Regular Interval Label" effect is an Nyquist effect. Nyquist plugins produce labels by returning a list of lists in the form: (list (list <start-time> <end-time> <"label-text">) ...) If only one "tim...

Re: Recording album at max but no clips

I have looked for the third-party drivers at Kxproject (http://www.kxproject.com/) but run into a "502 Bad Gateway" error when clicking on the filename. Anyone have any suggestions? Note that those drivers are a lot more complex to use than the normal "consumer" drivers provided...
