Re: upsampling to 44,100 Hz?

Set the "Project Rate" (lower left corner of the main interface) to 44100 before you export. The "Project Rate" determines the sample rate of exported files.

How long was the file? Mono or stereo? What format?
From the size difference, I'm guessing that the original file was a compressed format such as MP3.

Re: lost file?

What location did you select in the Export dialog screen?

This shows the file being exported into a "Jimi Hendrix" folder:

When it's ready ;)
Unfortunately it was delayed due to the discovery of a bug. That's now been fixed so hopefully the release will not be delayed for much longer.

Re: when exporting, does it re-compressn?

Re: Hearing audio when dragging a section

This is called "scrubbing" and as far as I know, Audacity does not support it. Audacity does not support scrubbing yet , but there is someone working on that feature so hopefully it will be available in a future release. With Audacity there's a lot of guesswork! Any advice gratefully rece...

Re: Preference for USB Input

I don't know which instruction manual you are reading, but it's not the Audacity 2.0.6 manual (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/) Do you have Audacity 2.0.6 (see "Help menu > About Audacity")? My dropdown menu for input in the Edit-Preferences menu does not offer this as an option. Normall...

Re: How2 Record/Save The Best Quality Internet Radio Music?

Is there any way to tell what the broadcast quality is without actually talking to an engineer at a given station? If you are able to directly download the music (rather than recording it or using a downloading service) then the downloaded file will be in the original (on-line version) format. Dire...
