Re: Panning Problem
See here for how to split a stereo track into two mono tracks: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/splitting_and_joining_stereo_tracks.html After splitting to two mono tracks you may mute or delete the click track. If after that there is still some "bleed" from the click on the music trac...

Re: RECORDING DELETES...
Check the location of the Audacity "temp" folder (see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/directories_preferences.html) The temp folder must be in a location where you have full read / write access. Ensure that there are no "PC maintenance" applications interfering with that fo...

Re: Identify and suggest plugins used in this recording?
As Koz wrote, he's using a better microphone which is both crisper and has more "depth". There's probably very little processing on his voice other than a bit of dynamic range compression. I'd suggest applying a little compression to your recording after applying EQ along the lines of what...

Re: Shepard Tone without plugin
The simplest way is to make one track for each octave interval, and generate logarithmic chirps with a range in octaves equal to the number of tracks. In this example I have 4 tracks, and each track sweeps from 110 Hz to 1760 Hz. Logarithmic frequency sweeps are required to keep the tones in tune wi...

Re: 50% default envelope on recording
Look again at the right side of the screenshot -- the volume control. It's not pegged; it's in a very reasonable range. The input level is set to 100%, which is normal (transmit the entire signal). "100 %" is not guaranteed to be unity gain. I can't see what is happening in that (still) i...

Re: unwanted click track :(
This is the only "Click Track" in Audacity, and you have to specifically go to the Generate menu to generate the click track:

Re: 50% default envelope on recording
Go to the "Input" tab of the volume control. I expect the recording level is set too high there.

Re: 50% default envelope on recording
That indicates that the audio signal is being clipped before it gets to Audacity.mwic wrote:When I hit "Record" it seems to apply an envelope to the recording, so that anything above the .5 clips
What are you recording and what settings are you using?

Re: Playback Sound HELP
You have recorded using the laptop's built in microphone. To record sounds that are playing on the computer, see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html Assuming that you are using Windows Vista or later, scroll down that page to the section: "...
